HOW TO PREPARE A MACHINE FOR A SERVICE

HOW TO PREPARE A MACHINE FOR A SERVICE

Posted by Anna Fisher on 27th Apr 2022

So today I wanted to help you feel comfortable about taking your machine in to get a service.

There are a few things that I think are important for you to know about before you take your machine in to get serviced or repaired.

WHAT TO PACK WITH YOUR MACHINE

SEWING MACHINE

  1. MACHINE
  2. POWER CORD
  3. POWER PETAL
  4. J FOOT
  5. BOBBIN -empty
  6. SPOOL PIN (if it is a removable one)
  7. SPOOL CAP

WHAT TO LEAVE HOME

The storage compartment that is removable from our machine should be taken off and left at home.

WHY?

Because the technician is not going to need this and they do not want to be held responsible for all you little pieces in case they get lost.  You have to remember, they take them apart to get at all the oiling and greasing spots.  So that is a lot of little screws to keep safe.

REMOVE ALL THE THREAD

why?

The technician will have a high quality thread at a certain weight, that they use for tension calibration.  Accuracy is very important when it comes to machines.

EMBROIDERY MACHINE

  1. EMBROIDERY ATTACHMENT
  2. THE SMALLEST HOOP
  3. EMBROIDERY FOOT ATTACHMENT

WHAT TO LEAVE HOME

All the extra hoops.

WHY?

They are not going to be embroidering up a hug picture that takes hours to do.  They can trouble shoot and see the results of adjustments in doing usually just a few letters.  So only a small hoop is necessary.

Do not be afraid to call and ask if you are not sure about something.
